Frequently asked questions

Does it really cost nothing? Yes. Public AAC is free and open source (MIT). No trial, no premium tier, no paid voices.

Do I need an account? No. Accounts exist only for sync and sharing and are also free.

Does it work without internet? Fully. After the first visit the app, boards, and voices work offline. See Offline.

Who owns the boards I make? You do. Export any board as a standard .obz file at any time — the format is an open standard other AAC apps can read.

Can it speak my language? Boards can be built in any language. Voice coverage depends on the device’s system voices plus the downloadable neural voices.
